By boat: If you are coming by boat, The Lightship is a green and white boat on the left as you enter Portsmouth Harbour. You will find The Lightship restaurant visitor’s berth area immediately on the right when you reach the entrance to Haslar marina. If this is full, please call the marina team on 023 9260 1201 and they will make every effort to find you a berth as close to the restaurant as possible.
Haslar Marina can also be contacted via VHF (channel 80) on entrance to Portsmouth Harbour. We will give you instructions on where to berth.
To avoid disappointment, a pre-booked table at our restaurant is advisable.
By car: Depart the M27 at Fareham central at junction 11. Keep to the central lane following Gosport A32. Turn left under the railway viaduct and keep in the left hand lane and follow the A32. Follow the A32 until you see the Gosport ferry and bus terminal. Keeping the bus depot to your left hand side follow the road round past the tower blocks and turn left opposite the George and Dragon Pub into Haslar Road.
Drive past the metal railing on your right and look for the two green ‘Haslar Marina’ navigation buoys, turn right and the car park is signposted to the right. Once parked, follow the pedestrian signs for (The Creek and) The Lightship which will direct you along the promenade adjacent to Haslar Marina, to the north gate. Press the buzzer and The Lightship staff will ask for your name and email address to check for your booking.
Please note, there is a 10 minute walk from the car park to The Lightship. The north gate entrance is the closest access point for drop off. As a visitor to The Lightship you can redeem 3 hours free parking, simply speak to a member of the Lightship team who will provide you with a unique code to enter at the parking machine once you return to the car park at the end of your visit.
By foot: The Lightship is at the north gate entrance gate to Haslar Marina. Turn left out of the Gosport Ferry terminal and walk along the promenade until you get to a metal gate to the right of the Millennium Pier. Press the intercom buzzer on the left and The Lightship staff will ask for your name and email address to check for your booking. On entry, please walk down the slipway and straight along the pontoon to the main entrance of The Lightship.
